I went to one of those sites that you post a job for freelancers to bid on doing work for you. I felt pretty good because of the fact that the site said that they would moderate and issues that developed between me and the freelancer I hired. I ended up awarding the job to someone that could not even communicate with me because of language barriers. This in itself was not too bad, but I could not get her to get anything the way I wanted. Basically I had half of a site set up and the freelancer decided to simply not finish the work for whatever reason. It took me 3 months just to get reimbursed by the site I placed my job on. They wanted me to just pick another freelancer from their list to finish things off.

By this time I was already mad at anyone that would take on the job of building my site, but the sales rep with Joomla Crafters was very understanding. He must have spent 5 hours on the phone with me on many occasions before I even hired them.

Well 2 days into the job, they called me and informed me that whatever the previous web developer did was not going to fly and that it had to be reworked from scratch. I blew up and hung up on them. The next day and with a very kind voice, I received another call from Mark (the designer I was in touch with at Joomla Crafters), and he talked me down and even though they were going to have to charge me more, I let them proceed.

About 2 weeks later, my site was done, COMPLETELY DONE! I could not believe it. Not only was it done, it was right and functioning perfectly.

My only regret was not finding this company first.
